Your tattoo artist
may give you special instructions for your tattoo,
but this generally how you want to take care of it.
-Your tattoo is
covered up with an antibacterial ointment to
promote healing.
-DO NOT remove
the bandage on your tattoo for 24 hours.
-After 24 hours,
remove the bandage SLOWLY and wash it with a mild
soap, then pat dry. Apply Bacitracin, Neosporin, A&D
Ointment, or any kind of ANTIBACTERIAL ointment
(available in any pharmacy) lightly three or four
times a day. In a day or two, a light scab may form
on the tattoo.
-DO NOT PICK
THIS SCAB!
-Do not expose
your tattoo to grease, oil, dirt, etc. Wear
protective clothing while engaged in dirty work. Do
not sunburn tattoo while it is healing. Also avoid
chlorine pools and salt water bathing. |
